So Rodrigo Granda, a leader in the FARC, apparently was captured in Venezuela -- not in Colombia as Colombian authorities first claimed. Was he captured by Colombians masquerading as Venezuelan police? Venezuelan police acting on their own? Venezuelan police with orders from higher-up?

This is one of those cases where I'm so lacking in (reliable) context that I can't make much sense of what's happening, much less what significance it all has... One thing though, it certainly isn't good for relations between Venezuela and Colombia. Seems like Chavez already has to maintain a delicate balance between improving relationships with Columbia's government and not alienating leftists in Columbia and their supporters, and this might make that balance harder to keep.
