Ortega's trial continues as scheduled (wow, really?)

Predictably, the defense made another request this week for the delay of the trial of old-guard union leader Carlos Ortega for his role in the winter 2002 oil stoppage. But this time, the postponement was rejected; the trial went ahead as scheduled, starting to hear arguments last Tuesday. Looks like it's actually going somewhere.

I wonder why there hasn't been more (or any) fuss in the U.S. media about this, especially considering all the concern they've manufactured for Maria Corina Machado. Maybe Ortega doesn't seem as sympathetic a character...
